The Ottawa 67's jumped out to a three goal lead early in the second and the Guelph Storm couldn't recover, losing Game 1 of the Robertson Cup final 7-2.
Isaac Ratcliffe and Nick Suzuki scored for the Storm in the second period bringing the visiting team to within a point.
Lucas Chiodo's goal at 54 seconds into the second would stand as the game winner. Sasha Chmelevski led the 67's with two goals and two assists. Tye Felhaber had a pair of goals for the host team and Michael DiPietro stopped 37 shots in the win.
Game 2 is Saturday in Ottawa.
