Brockton is inviting the public to come celebrate the grand opening of the refurbished ice pad in the former Horse Palace in Walkerton on Family Day.
The event will include remarks from provincial and municipal representatives, and from the Twice the Ice fundraising committee, who were responsible for kickstarting the project. The rink will also be officially renamed the Power Workers Union Centre for the union’s contribution to the upgrade.
The event will be held Monday, February 18 at 290 Durham Street West in Walkerton, and hot chocolate, coffee and popcorn will be available. A free skate at 1 p.m. will follow.
