Man arrested after break-and-enter theft

An Exeter man is facing charges following a break-and-enter theft last weekend south of Dashwood.

Huron County OPP were called on February 10 at 4:41 p.m. by a resident who pulled into his property and saw a suspicious vehicle parked next to his trailer on Bronson Line. The victim snapped a picture of the vehicle, then witnessed a man stealing a bar fridge from the trailer, quickly put it in the back seat of the suspect vehicle, and flee the scene.

Police began patrolling and found the vehicle roughly 15 minutes later at a property located in Huron Park. The male suspect was arrested and the fridge was recovered.

As a result, a 25-year-old man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and break and enter to commit an indictable offence. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 28, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Exeter.
