With the World Junior Hockey Championships set to kick off next Wednesday, two Owen Sound Attack players will be playing big roles for Team Canada.
The eyes of the nation will once again fixate on the Canadian U-20 hockey team, as they defend last year's gold medal on home ice in BC. This year, the Owen Sound Attack are well represented with centre Nick Suzuki and defenseman Markus Phillips on the squad. Suzuki has been an elite talent for years, and was drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights 13th overall in last years NHL Draft. Phillips is the lowest drafted player ever to make Team Canada, getting picked 118th overall in 2017 by the L.A. Kings.
Canada opens the tournament on Boxing day at 8 p.m. against Denmark.
