GOJHL: Cyclones rally for the win; Warriors let a two goal lead slip

Listowel 3 Waterloo 2

The Listowel Cyclones rallied from a one goal deficit in the second, scoring three times in the third and held on to beat Waterloo 3-2.

Chayse Herrfort sparked the Cyclones come-back with a power play goal at 2:22 of the third. Trent Verbeek scored at 15:07 and Holdyn Lansink added another about a minute-and-a-half later.

Sam Spaedt put the Siskins to within a point, scoring with 93 seconds left in the game with the extra attacker on the ice.

Riley McCabe earned the win with 25 saves. Matt Onuska stopped 38 shots for Waterloo.

Elmira 5 Brampton 4

Tyson Hillier scored the game winner midway through the third and the Elmira Sugar Kings beat Brampton 5-4.

Zack Cameron led the Sugar Kings with a hat trick and an assist. Hillier had a goal and a helper in the win.

The Bombers were led by Marcus Didiano who scored and set up another.

Cambridge 5 Stratford 4 (OT)

The Stratford Warriors let a two goal lead slip, falling 5-4 to Cambridge in overtime.

Kameron Shearer tied the game for the Warriors with just under four minutes left in regulation. Mark Cooper scored the game winner for the Redhawks on the power play at 3:18 of the extra frame.

The Redhawks were led by Devyn Orpana with a pair of goals.

Clayton Lewis scored and had an assist to lead the Warriors offense.

St. Marys 3 St. Thomas 3 (2OT)

The Lincolns were up 3-1 early in the third but let it slip and had to settle for a 3-3 tie with St. Thomas.

Carter Schoonderwoerd, Austin Maietta and Tanner Hertel scored for the Lincolns.

Liam Fedak's short handed goal with just under two minutes left in regulation would tie the game for the Stars and force extra time.

Neither team was able to score over two overtime periods.
