Trevor Seip elected as North Huron deputy reeve

The new North Huron council's inaugural meeting on Monday saw six new members of council discuss some possible future changes, as well as elect its new deputy reeve.

Wingham Ward Councillor Trevor Seip was elected North Huron's deputy reeve by a vote of 5-1 over challenger Anita Van Hittersum. Seip is the only returning member of the previous North Huron council.

Council also voted to allow members of the public two minutes to speak at the beginning of each council meeting about items on the agenda.

That was something both Seip and incoming Reeve Bernie Bailey felt was important, to craft a path forward for the Township of North Huron.
