Ginn wants another term as Huron County warden

Huron County Warden Jim Ginn is seeking a second, two-year term as warden.

Ginn said one thing that influenced his decision to run again is the turnover in county councillors.  Ten of the 15 councillors will be new to county council.

Ginn said he's also noticed when attending Western Warden's meeting that other wardens have been elected for longer terms.

"Some of those wardens are elected on one year, some at two and some at four," said Ginn. "And it's apparent to me that the ones that have a four-year term have a longer time to build relationships with senior levels of government and senior staff and it just seems to me that they get more than we do."

And there are a couple of issues Ginn wants to follow through in the next term, including getting broadband into every Huron County home and dealing the sale of the Bluewater Youth Centre south of Goderich.

He is being challenged by Bluewater Deputy Mayor Jim Fergusson for the position.
