GOJHL Wrap: Cambridge and Listowel win close games

Listowel 4 Stratford 3 (2OT)

The Listowel Cyclones needed double overtime to defeat the Stratford Warriors, winning the contest 4-3.

The win puts the Cyclones one point ahead of the Warriors for first in the Midwestern Conference.

Brayden Krieger scored the game winner at 3:07 of the second overtime. Ryan Cullen's power play goal with less than a minute-and-a-half left in regulation tied the game for the Warriors.

The Cyclones were led by Krieger and Bryce McFadden who scored and had an assist each. Sean Ross led the Warriors with a pair of goals and an assist.

Cambridge 4 Waterloo 3 (2OT)

Waterloo let a two goal lead slip, falling 4-3 to Cambridge in double overtime.

Niki Molson had the game winner on the power play with 38 seconds remaining in the second overtime period.

The Redhawks' Ben McFarlane had the equalizer, also with the man advantage, with just over five minutes left in regulation. It was McFarlane's second of the game.

The Redhawks beat the Siskins 3-1 on Saturday.

Brantford 3 Kitchener 2

Liam Galton scored just eight seconds into the third to give the Brantford 99ers a 3-2 win over Kitchener. It's the second time in as many days the 99er's took a 3-2 win over the Dutchmen.

The 99ers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to Mack Easter and Joshua Houston. Kitchener scored twice in the second to tie the game.

St. Marys 7 Chatham 3

St. Marys rallied from a one goal deficit in the second to score six times in the third and stun Chatham 7-3.

Three of the Lincolns third period goals were with the man advantage.

Blair Butchart led the Lincolns with two goals and three assists. Joe Manzur and Cayse Ton had a pair of goals each and both had an assist in the win.

Jake O'Donnell led Chatham with a pair of goals.

Elmira 4 Brampton 2

Damian Figueira scored the game winner midway through the third and Elmira doubled Brampton 4-2.

Mason McMahon scored and had two assists in the win. Luke Israel set up three of the Sugar Kings' goals and Ty Biles scored and had an assist.

The Sugar Kings out shot the Bombers 41-23.
