PJHL Wrap: Local teams struggle in interdivisional play

Stayner 8 Mount Forest 4

The Stayner Siskins jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and went on to beat Mount Forest 8-4.

Klayton Hoelscher lead the Patriots with a pair of goals. Dylan Brown had two assists. Nathan Bolger and Luke Hoelscher also scored for Mount Forest.

The Siskins were led by Josh Battistella with two goals and two assists. Vito Sica scored and set up two for Stayner.

Orillia 3 Hanover 2

Noah Johnson and Derek Cornfield scored for the Barons but it wasn't enough as Hanover fell 3-2 to the Orillia Terriers.

Corey Miller had the game winner for the Terriers with 39 seconds remaining in regulation.

The Barons allowed two power play goals.

Schomberg 6 Goderich 3

The Goderich Flyers let an early two goal lead slip, falling 6-3 to Schomberg.

Trent Michie and Mitch Fisher scored early in the game before Owen Heilemann scored two power play goals, back-to-back to end the opening period.

Schomberg scored three times in the second before the Flyers' Riley Conners would find the back of the net again with less than a minute-and-a-half remaining in the middle frame.

The Cougars were 3 for 8 on the power play while the Flyers were 1-3 with the man advantage.

Wingham 3 Walkerton 3

The Wingham Ironman and Walkerton Hawks played to a 3-3 draw. Spencer Elder scored the equalizer for Walkerton late in the second and both teams were kept off the board after that. It was Elder's second goal of the game.

Brady Stewart scored and had an assist for Walkerton.

Wingham was led by Kyle Stanbury and Rhys Vollmer with a goal and an assist each. Carter Collinson had two helpers and Jacob Bishop also scored for the Ironmen.

Kincardine 4 Mitchell 2

Mike Fiegehen scored and set up another in the Kincardine Bulldogs 4-2 win over Mitchell. Hunter Robins-Gibbons and Logan Swanton also had two point games with a pair of assists each.

The Hawks got goals from Braeden Brudett and Jarrett Bogdon. Jake Finlayson set up both of Mitchell's goals.
