Lake Huron Centre looking for more board members

The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is currently looking for three new directors for its board.

CEO Erinn Lawrie said applicants must be over the age of 18 and residents of Canada, but they're also looking for people with a range of skills that can help them further their mission. They could have experience in running a business or fund-raising or a legal background, but the goal is diversity.

"We're also looking for people who are geographically diverse, so we like to have representatives from different areas along Lake Huron. We're based in Goderich so it's really great if we can have people who have a connection to different areas of the lake," said Lawrie.

"We have four meetings per year," said Lawrie. "They're usually on a Friday and they're about four hours long, during the day, so we do need our directors to be at those meetings. Those are pretty important and there are some time to time other meetings but it's really how much you want to get involved."

More information and an application can be found on the lakehuron.ca website. The deadline for applications is January 6.
