Grey-Bruce cannabis education sessions start Monday night

Parents and grandparents are the target audience for a series of education sessions across Grey-Bruce this month -- and the topic is cannabis.

Canada is set to legalize the recreational use of marijuana on October 17 and the Community Drug and Alcohol Strategy for Grey Bruce wants more people to learn the facts from professionals.

These sessions will give parents valuable information in order to have open conversations with teenagers.

The first session is tonight at the Durham Community Centre. There's another one Wednesday night at the Saugeen Shores Community Complex.

All the sessions start at 7 p.m. and will feature a number of panellists including a youth addiction counsellor, a police officer, a pharmacist and a public health professional.

The education session are scheduled for: · Monday, October 1 Durham Community Centre · Wednesday, October 3 Saugeen Shores Community Complex · Wednesday, October 10 Wiarton Community Centre · Thursday, October 11 Town of The Blue Mountains Town Hall · Wednesday, October 17 Harmony Centre Owen Sound
