Town Of Hanover Ends Agreement With Bluewater Radio, Board Members Step Down

The Town of Hanover has announced members they appointed to the Bluewater Radio Board of Directors have agreed to step down.

The town is citing "irreconcilable differences" with the Bluewater Radio Board members, as well as management on issues associated with the operation of Bluewater Radio.

Hanover Council says they will not be appointing new members to the board.

In a release, Hanover states that the decision to purchase the building holding the small community radio station was "made in good faith in an effort to assist the station in becoming sustainable", however, the town states that it is now apparent that Bluewater Radio has not been receptive to the town's assistance, and wishes to proceed on its own.

Council does not intend to renew an agreement with Bluewater Radio when the current deal expires at the end of 2019.

In a request for comment, Bluewater Radio Station Manager Andrew McBride said, "Due to a possible ongoing investigation, there will be no statement from Bluewater Radio at this time"
