The CAO for Goderich says a deadline is approaching for an agreement to be signed between Central Huron, Huron East and Goderich on the operation of the Mid-Huron Land Fill Site.
The site is scheduled to close to normal waste on June 30 and Larry McCabe says they'd like to have an agreement in place by mid-June.
But he says Huron East has requested some changes and so those will be dealt with at their meeting this week. He believes the changes are about the quantities and types of waste that can be brought to the site.
"The site is not designed to deal with waste and also you operate pursuant to an environmental certificate of compliance and there's no necessity to put that wording in the agreement or you've got to change that document and change the agreement," says McCabe.
McCabe adds Central Huron is close to approving the agreement, and Goderich will consider it on May 22.
