United Way Perth-Huron Almost At Its Fundraising Goal

The current fundraising campaign for Perth-Huron United Way ends in less than two weeks.

Executive Director Ryan Erb says they're still a little short of their goal, but they expected to raise over $100,000 more than they did last year.

Erb says they set their target very high this year to try and keep pace with the demands in the community.

They anticipate being able to increase their funding for eight organizations that they currently serve. They also plan to start a program through the Centres for Employment and Learning and to help newcomers across Perth and Huron.

"We have had one of the most successful fund-raising campaigns in the history of our United Way," says Erb. "We're so thankful for the generous support in the community."

Tickets are still available for their final event of the campaign - a Spirit of Community Celebration at the Arden Park Hotel in Stratford Thursday night.   The special guest will be former CBC News Anchor Peter Mansbridge.

Anyone looking for tickets can contact the Perth Huron United Way office in Stratford.
