Brockton Considers Bridge Replacement

The Municipality of Brockton will be consulting the public about a problem bridge that needs repairs.
The bridge south of Paisley will be environmentally-and-culturally assessed, allowing Brockton to vote on whether to replace the bridge, repair it, or tear it down.
The bridge crosses the Teeswater River along Concession Road 20, and Mayor David Inglis estimated around 100 vehicles use it every day.
However, the cost of replacement or repairs has soared beyond the expectations of councilors. A report from 2017 estimated a cost of around $2.4-million, but that number is expected to drop by over half as new solutions are considered.
