Paddyfest Party Marking It's 41st Year In North Perth

Paddyfest is well underway in North Perth.

This year events kicked off on the March 2 and will run until March 18.

North Perth Mayor Julie Behrns says everyone can come enjoy the events, and a lot of people work behind the scenes to make the celebration happen.

"All ages can come out and have fun and celebrate community," she says. "That's what it's all about, to celebrate the volunteers. It takes a huge number of volunteers to do Paddyfest every year."

This year marks the 41st Paddyfest celebration. The parade will run on March 17 at 11am.

Mayor Behrns says Paddyfest has become an iconic local celebration that all ages can enjoy, and the fundraising brought in by the events directly impacts the community.

"So much of all the proceeds go back to the Kinsmen and Kinettes and the local service groups, and they have truly over 41 years helped build our community, literally. On behalf of North Perth, we just can't say enough about how great it is to have them here," she says.
