Shaw's Natural Hat Trick Leads Hawks to Victory

The Hawks' Ryan Shaw scored a natural hat trick and added an assist in Walkerton's 7-3 win over Kincardine. Their Pollock Division Semifinal is now tied at 2-2.

Hunter Robins-Gibbons opened the scoring for the Bulldogs with a power play goal less than four minutes into the game. Tyler Sutter scored unassisted late in the first to make it 2-0 Kincardine. Justin Donnelly put the Hawks on the board with a power play goal with just seven seconds remaining in the opening period.

Into the second, Chris RolfVonDenBauman tied the game just 54 seconds in. Derrick Bernath's short handed goal before the midway point would give the Bulldogs the lead yet again but it would be short lived. Brendan Welsh tied the game again less than three minutes later.

Ryan Shaw's first goal of the game would be the go-ahead goal, coming on the power play at 15:38 of the second. He scored again on the power play midway through the third and completed his hat trick at 17:11. Joe Shaw scored the Hawks' final goal of the game at 19:51 of the final frame.

Walkerton made good use of the man advantage going 3 for 9 on the power play. The Bulldogs were 1 for 6. Walkerton out shot Kincardine 43-26.

Mathew Donnelly earned the win in net. Craig Luinstra made 36 saves for Kincardine.

Game 5 is tomorrow night in Walkerton at 8:20 p.m.
