GOJHL Wrap: Sugar Kings Rally to Beat Brantford

Elmira scored four times in the third period to stun Brantford 5-2.

The 99ers were leading 2-1 after the second period. Ryan Takamatsu got the rally started just 65 seconds into the final frame. Marcel Berube scored on the power play just over four minutes later to give the Sugar Kings a 3-2 lead. Matt MacKay added insurance midway through the period and Ethan Skinner scored short handed on an empty 99ers net at 18:07.

Jake Burton also scored for the Sugar Kings.

Mitchell Devins-Cann and Louis Latta scored for Brantford.

Skinner led Elmira with a goal and two assists.

Tyler Mazzocato earned the win with 20 saves.

Guelph 2 Kitchener 1

Bradley Smith's goal midway through the first would stand as the game winner as the Guelph Hurricanes edged the Kitchener Dutchmen 2-1.

Anthony Mota opened the scoring for Guelph just over six-and-a-half minutes into the opening frame.

Tyler Harrison put the Dutchmen on the board 40 seconds into the second period.

Jet Greaves earned the win with 30 saves. Lucas Pfeil stopped 19 shots for Kitchener.

Stratford 7 Brampton 4

Jack Scanlan scored and set up three of the Warriors' goals in Stratfords' 7-4 win over Brampton.

Graham Brulotte had three assists in the win. Dylan Lebold and Ryan Nicholson scored and had an assist each for Stratford.

The Bombers were let by Jared Viggers with a goal and an assist.

Ruan Badenhorst earned the win with 32 saves. Joshua Eisfeld stopped 18 of 23 shots before being replaced by Travis Smith who made 11 saves on 13 shots in relief.
