The Attack Lose to Fall Further Behind the Rangers

The Owen Sound Attack scored three times in the second period but let their one goal lead slip, falling 5-4 to the Kitchener Rangers.

Rickard Hugg tied the game for the Rangers at 10:19 of the third and Kole Sherwood scored the go-ahead-goal at 12:11. Adam Mascherin sparked the Rangers third period surge with a power play goal at 4:31. Mascherin also assisted on Sherwood's game winner and put the Rangers on the board early in the first.

Nick Suzuki scored short handed less than two minutes into the second to even the score at 1-1. Greg Meireles answered for the Rangers midway through the frame to give Kitchener the lead. Maksim Sushko and Sean Durzi scored just over a minute apart to put the Attack up 3-2 heading into the third.

Aidan Dudas was in on two of the Attack's goals.

Riley Daniels stopped 20 shots for Owen Sound. Chris McGonigle made 11 saves on 14 shots until he was pulled after Durzi's goal in the second period. Luke Richardson stopped 17 of 18 shots in relief.

With the loss the Attack fall further behind the Midwest leading Rangers with 28 points to Kitchener's 34.
