Warm Winter Wishes Program Kicking Off At Wellington Heights

The Warm Winter Wishes program at Wellington Heights in Mount Forest kicks off on Wednesday.

The leadership class, which is in it's 16th year, is a staple at the high school and in Mount Forest.

"The whole point of the class is we run events at the school and the community, and with the money raised by doing those events, we buy Christmas presents for families and kids that otherwise couldn't afford them," says Grade 12 student and campaign GM Warren Zeinstra

Zeinstra says there are tons of school and community events coming up this year.

"We have a community dinner in Mount Forest and Arthur," says Zeinstra. "We also have the annual Pajama Jamarama, and what that is is an event where we open up the school to students from 7pm until 7am December 14 to the 15, and we host a bunch of events for them all night at the school."

There is also a school chili cook-off, mini stick tournament, a toy drive with the Patriots, a movie and hockey buy out, silent auctions, and many more events.

Zeinstra says the program is a staple in the Wellington Heights culture.

"It's such a great class," says Zeinstra. "We're in our 16th year. Every student I've talked to that's been involved says it's an awesome experience. We really bring the community together and we bring the spirit of Christmas to the community."
