Saugeen Shores Hosts Fire Instructors From The U.S.

This is day two of a "Nozzle Forward" training course in Southampton and Port Elgin.

The Saugeen Shores Fire Department is hosting a group of American fire instructors at the Southampton Fire Station and at the former Coffee Time building in Port Elgin.

The instructors are leading more than 50 firefighters from across Ontario in a course called "Nozzle Forward."

The goal of Nozzle Forward is to increase the competency of firefighters with their tools and expand on the conceptual aspects of the fire environment. The course integrates the three major components of firefighting; fire behavior, hose management, and fire attack.

Saugeen Shores residents will notice a high level of firefighting activity at the two training sites, and buildings close to the training areas may experience a minor variation in water pressure.

This is only the fourth time Nozzle Forward has been offered in Canada.
