The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is warning residents of a possible door-to-door scam involving water testing and the sale of water filter systems.
The town does not test individual water systems without making an appointment with the resident first.
In the case of testing, the only authorized agent of the town is the Ontario Clean Water Agency.
Door-to-door visits or sales regarding water products are not endorsed by the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
The water is tested routinely as required by all public water providers and results are submitted to the province as required by legislation.
If you have any doubt about the identification of a person asking to enter your residence to obtain a water sample, you are asked to call the Town of South Bruce Peninsula office at 519-534-1400.
