Cycling Meetings Underway In Huron County

The first of two public meetings for cyclists was held this week at the Blyth Arena.

Susanna Reid is a Huron County Planner as well as a member of Cycling Advisory Committee. She explains the county council adopted a cycling strategy in January of this year aimed at increasing cycling tourism as well as road safety for everyone using the roads. Reid says they know there is a very large cycling community in Huron County and they want to know where cyclists tend to ride most frequently so they can determine what they can do to make those routes safer as well as enhance the cycling experience along this routes. Reid adds the goal of the cycling strategy is to work with cyclists and motorists to find ways to make cycling safer for everyone.

The second public meeting will be held on June 15th at the Crediton Community Centre from five till eight in the evening.
