Actors And Actresses Needed For Bruce County Documentary

The producers of a documentary on the history of Bruce County are looking for volunteer actors and actresses.

The documentary intends to portray a land sale in 1856 in Southampton, that saw thousands of people break into brawls as they tried to secure a portion of Bruce County land.

The three-hour, three-part series will air on TVO, and will also feature the stunning scenery around Bruce County.

Auditions will be held April 11 and 22 in Southampton, as well as April 23 in Tobermory. There are over 50 roles to be filled.

No experience is necessary, and a commitment of one day is required for most roles. Costumes, meals and refreshments are provided.

Those interested in taking part in the project can email Yvonne@VisualHeritage.ca.

As part of the Ontario Visual Heritage Project, the documentary will be distributed for free, along with a curriculum companion book, into every school in Bruce County.

To launch the TVO series, screenings will be held in locations throughout Bruce County in late 2017 and 2018.
