Patriots Complete Comeback to Win Pollock Div. Semifinal

The Mount Forest Patriots completed their comeback with a 5-2 win over Mitchell last night to advance to the Pollock Division final against Walkerton. The Patriot lost the first three games of the series.

The Patriots struck twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the second. Nathan Templeman put the Hawks on the board just 36 seconds into the middle frame.  Mount Forest's Ryley Cribbin answered for the Patriots at the midway point, returning the Patriots two goal lead.

In the third, Nick Jung scored at 3:57 on the power play to put Mitchell within a point of the Patriots. Michael Stefanelli answered 19 seconds later for Mount Forest. Blair Butchart extended the Patriots lead at 14:55 of the final frame.

Mathieu Oullette earned the win with 33 saves. Wyatt Nicholson allowed all five goals on 25 shots.

The Patriots were led by Cribbin and Stefanelli who each had a goal and two assists. Brendan Aitken and Ostop Mostowy also scored for Mount Forest.

They now face the Walkerton Hawks in the Pollock Division Championship Final.
