Attack Extend Coach McGill's Contract Through 2017-18

The Owen Sound Attack have locked up their head coach for a few more seasons.

The Attack announced this morning that Ryan McGill will be the head coach through the 2017-18 season, after leading the Attack to a 6th place finish in the Western Conference. McGill amassed a 32-25-8-3 record in his first season behind the Owen Sound bench.

A Sherwood Park, Alberta native, McGill won a Memorial Cup as head coach of the Kootenay Ice in 2002 in Guelph, and this year earned his 300th junior coaching win. The Attack have a mostly returning roster next year, only losing over-agers Bryson Cianfrone, Josh Sterk and departing goaltender Daniel Dekoning. That leaves a great young core, featuring forward Nick Suzuki and d-man Marcus Phillips.

McGill added, “We have a very strong group of core players. There’s a lot of work to be done, but fans should be excited about what this young team has to offer.”

The Attack are selling their early bird season ticket packages now, with the deadline on June 30th.
