The first ship into the port of Goderich this spring has the added distinction of being the first internationally-flagged ship.
Captain Huib Van Der Mijle says they’re picking up about ten-thousand metric tons of corn at Goderich Elevators, and travelling back to Ireland.
The Amstelborg arrived in Goderich around four o’clock Sunday afternoon, and will leave around ten o’clock Wednesday morning. He adds their stay is a little longer than usual because they’re switching four crew members.
The Amstelborg is from the Netherlands.
