North Huron Partners With Morris Turnberry To Deliver Services

North Huron and Morris Turnberry have announced a new shared services project.

The two-year pilot project will see the municipalities partner to deliver public works services, building services, drainage services and administration services.

The partnership will save the two municipalities and estimated $600,000 by 2018, and through a streamlined and strategic approach to delivery of services, no job losses will occur.

By saving that kind of money, the two men at the forefront of the agreement - North Huron Reeve Neil Vincent and Morris Turnberry Mayor Paul Gowing - hope to ease the tax burden on their local ratepayers.

“The sharing of our resources only makes our two municipalities stronger and the delivery of these services, more efficient," says Mayor Gowing. "This natural partnership recognizes our common goals, geography and service needs and will allow for future development in our community.”

The next task in the partnership is to hire a director of operations to oversee the joint effort, and ensure the most efficient and streamlined delivery of these services over the two-year agreement.

“By working together and pooling resources, we can provide more efficient and effective services, with a greater focus on customer service,” says Vincent.
