Meaford Delays Accepting Recreation Master Plan

Meaford residents who’ve been waiting for a new swimming pool, new playground equipment in local parks or other recreational amenities will have to wait longer.

Meaford council has postponed any consideration of the Recreation and Culture Strategy Master Plan until the work on the municipality’s service delivery review is finished.

A few of the 94 recommendations call for Meaford to buy new playground equipment, upgrade its skate park, and extend its waterfront trail network.

Recreation Director Dan Buttineau had recommended in his report that council simply "receive" the master plan.

Buttineau added the master plan was merely a list of suggestions.
