Local Drivers Face Poor Visibility; Closed Roads

Visibility is the biggest problems for drivers in our region today.

Snow squalls continue to cross the region in the northwest flow of cold air over Lake Huron.   Heavy snow bursts and blowing snow are expected through the day.

Highway 21 is closed from County Road 25 (just north of Goderich) to County Road 86 at Amberley.

County Road 86 is closed from Wingham to Listowel.

Highway 87 is closed from Bluevale to Harriston.

Bruce Road 4 from Wingham, north to Teeswater REOPENED just after 10:00 a.m..

Other major routes are track-bare with snowpacked with drifted sections.   Secondary roads are snowcovered and heavily drifted. Plowing and sanding operations continue.

A Snow Squall Warning in effect for the Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth and Wellington counties.

Off-lake squalls may continue through the next couple of days. Local snowfall rates of 10 to 15 centimeters per day are possible into Wednesday morning.
