Lightning struck down by Titans 108-107 in double OT

The London Lightning dropped their third straight game and suffered a 108-107 loss against the K-W Titans on Monday.

London had a hard time keeping up at first, they finished the first quarter behind the Titans 13-6. However, the Lightning was able to bridge the gap during the second frame and finished right behind The Titans 34-33 at halftime.

The Lightning struggled to keep up during third, and the Titans held a 69-58 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Halfway into the fourth quarter, London tied things up and briefly managed to take the lead. The game was forced into overtime when they finished 87-87.  The Lightning held a steady lead during OT. The final two and a half minutes were touch and go and the game was forced into a second overtime when they finished 96-96.

Both teams fought tooth and nail. The K-W Titans scored with a layup to edge London with only 10 seconds left on the clock.

Randy Phillips led the Lightning with 28 points and 12 assists. Marcus Capers helped with 10 rebounds, Garrett Williamson added 12 points and four assists.

London will be on the road Friday to take on the Windsor Express at 7 p.m. They won't be at home to play again until March 29.
