Jr. hockey wrap-up – March 15, 2019

The Lakeshore Canadiens have eliminated the Essex 73's from the playoffs following a 4-2 win in Game 5 on Friday.

The Canadiens started off strong as both Blake Bain and Matt Fraser scored in the first period.

The 73's Josh Pope -Ferguson started off period two with a goal. Lakeshore's Brandon Ireland then scored putting them in the lead with three points.

The third period started with another goal for Lakeshore scored by Jarrett Tazzmann. Josh Pope-Ferguson finished off the game with a goal for the 73's.

The Canadiens will now move on to the Western Conference Finals to take on the Exeter Hawks.

The London Nationals lost to the LaSalle Vipers 3-2 overtime in Game 2 on Friday.

The Vipers' started off the game with a goal in the first period by Stephane Crevier. The Nationals' answered back with a goal by Josh Castle 10:13 into the first period.

The Nationals' Max Vindogradov scored the only goal in the second period.

Abdul Abouzeeni scored the only goal for the Viper's tying up the game in the third period.

AJ Ryan scored the winning goal for the Vipers in overtime.

The best-of-seven series is now tied 1-1.

The puck is set to drop for Game 3 on Saturday at 7 p.m. in London.
