Lightning defeat Sudbury 124-107

A.J. Gaines Jr. scored 25 points off the bench as the London Lightning dominated the Sudbury Five 124-107 at Budweiser Gardens Saturday night.

It was the fourth straight win for the Lightning, who are now at 16-16 on the season.

London completely dominated most of the game, running away with a 44-21 lead in the first quarter, then holding a 74-39 lead at halftime. Sudbury made some defensive adjustments and began chipping away at the lead, even going 35-21 over the Lightning in the fourth quarter, but London's lead was too insurmountable.

Marcus Capers put down 18 points for the Lightning, with Marvin Phillips adding 15. Maurice Bolden, though, picked up a triple-double with his team-leading ten rebounds and ten assists, plus 14 points.

Braylon Rayson led the Five with 25 points. Georges Serresse scored 14 points off the bench and Devin Gilligan added 12 points. Cory Dixon led on defence with eight rebounds.

The Lightning complete their Family Day weekend homestand Sunday afternoon against the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans.
