Knights Ground Spitfires on Family Day 3-1

Liam Foudy had a goal and an assist in the London Knights' 3-1 win over rival Windsor Monday afternoon.

London stopped the Spitfires' winning streak before a Family Day crowd of 9,036 at Budweiser Gardens. The Knights now have 68 points in the OHL Western Conference standings. The Spitfires have 57 points and anchor the final playoff position.

Alex Formenton wasted no time getting the Knights on the board first, scoring his 19th goal of the year just 46 seconds into the first period.

Evan Bouchard scored on the power play at 1:38 of the second period to extend the London lead to 2-0. Luke Boka responded for the Spitfires with his 13th goal of the season to cut the lead in half.

Foudy scored his goal late in regulation into an empty-net to seal the win.

Joseph Raaymakers faced 28 Windsor shots in goal for London and only failed to stop one of them. Michael DiPietro had 22 saves in net for the Spitfires.

The Spitfires return home Thursday night to host the Ottawa 67s. The Knights face the 67s themselves on Friday.
