Knights Take Two Swedish Players in Import Draft

The London Knights looked to Sweden in this year's CHL Import Draft.

In the 26th annual edition of the draft, the Knights took with their first round pick Jesper Bratt, the 49th pick overall. The right winger last played for AIK IF in Stockholm.

Bratt, who turns 19 next month, had six goals and 16 assists for AIK IF during the 2016-17 regular season. At 5' 9", 170 lbs, the Stockholm native was drafted last year by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round. He signed an entry-level contract with the Devils earlier this spring.

The Knights drafted with their second round pick, 109th overall, defenceman Adam Boqvist. The 5' 11", 170 pound 16-year-old from Falun, Sweden played this past season with Brynas IF Junior 18, part of the team sitting in the top tier of the Swedish Hockey League.

Boqvist's total goal output for the 2016-17 season for the organization was 12 goals for 27 points. He also played six games for Sweden in the Under 18 World Championship.
