Knights Stumble in Erie 7-1

The London Knights were unable to follow up their performance against Windsor Friday night with another, losing to the Otters 7-1 Saturday night at Erie Insurance Arena.

Troy Timpano was stellar in goal for the Otters, facing 20 London shots and turning back 19 of them.

Alex DeBrincat scored the first of his two goals at 6:20 into the first period.  About three and a half minutes after, Kyle Pettit would deposit his first goal of two to give the Otters a 2-0 lead.  Max Jones would put London on the board with 30 seconds left in the first for his third goal of the year.  Cliff Pu had the lone assist.

It would be all Erie for the rest of the game.  The Otters scored two goals in the second period, one from Carson Edwardson and the other from DeBrincat later in the period.  Knights goaltender Tyler Parsons would be replaced in net with Tyler Johnson about halfway through the second.

Johnson would be unable to stop the bleeding for London in the third, as Erie scored three more unanswered goals - from Ivan Lodnia at 2:56, Jordan Sambrook at 6:52, and Pettit at 14:47.

Taylor Raddysh would have four assists for the Otters.

The Knights are off until Thursday, when they host the Kitchener Rangers at Budweiser Gardens.
