One suspect arrested, one wanted in downtown shooting

London police officers have positively identified two people allegedly involved in a shooting on Wednesday night.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. on Albert Street, west of Richmond Street. Police say two people called 911 and reported hearing a gunshot in the area.

Upon arrival, officers found evidence that suggested a gun had been fired. No injuries or damages were reported, according to police.

Surveillance footage reportedly helped police identify the two suspects.

Police said a 22-year-old London man was arrested after a search of a residence led police to find a sawed-off shotgun. A search warrant was executed the next day, which led to the seizure of ammunition and a silencer.

A 22-year-old has been charged with possession and careless storage of a firearm.

A second suspect is still at large.

Police have charged 27-year-old Lucas Townend by way of warrant for possession of a firearm, careless storage, and possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.

If you see Townend, police advise not to approach the man, but to instead call 911.

Anyone with information on the outstanding suspect's whereabouts is asked to call London police at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
