Death of man found in park ruled homicide

London police have confirmed a man found dead in the south end of the city over the weekend was murdered.

The body of 36-year-old Levi Jordan Brown was discovered in a drainage ditch off of Base Line Road West near Beachwood Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Officers had been called to the area for a welfare check.

The death was immediately deemed suspicious and the area was cordoned off with yellow police tape. Investigators were seen canvassing nearby homes on Sunday.

Further investigation led police to rule Brown's death a homicide, police said on Monday.

No information related to a possible cause of death has been released.

The investigation, which is being headed by the major crime section, is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This is London's second homicide of 2023. On March 11, Joel A. Cameron, 41, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds at an apartment building at 621 Kipps Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Adrian Neil Campbell, 42, and Devon Ferguson-Feit, 28, have been charged with second degree murder. Campbell is additionally charged with two counts of attempted murder in the shooting of two police officers during a standoff in the hours following the discovery of Cameron. Both Campbell and Ferguson-Feit are scheduled to appear in court later this week.
