Death deemed suspicious by London police

Police are investigating after a man was found dead in southwest London.

On Saturday around 5:30 p.m., officers were reportedly sent to perform a welfare check just west of Base Line Road West and Wharncliffe Road South. Upon arrival, police said they discovered a person deceased.

Police are treating the death as suspicious. Members of the Major Crime Unit and the Regional Coroner's Office have been called in to assist with the investigation.

The victim's identity has not been shared at this time.
