A London man is facing charges after a restaurant in the south end of the city was broken into early Friday morning.

London police say a man was seen throwing a cinder block through the front door of the eatery on Southdale Road, just east of Wharncliffe Road South around 3:10 a.m. The man is then alleged to have gone inside the unnamed restaurant where he stole property before taking off.

A person who witnessed the incident called police.

An officer arrested a suspect a short distance away and the stolen property was seized.

A 34-year-old man is charged with breaking and entering and theft. He was scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charge on Friday.
