'I had tears of joy': London painter wins $3M lotto prize

Talk about a perfect way to end a night shift.

A London painter who purchased an instant lottery ticket on his way home from work was shocked to find he had won a whopping $3 million.

Peter Baxted, 56, said he has played the lottery on occasion since he was 18-years-old. Recently, while driving home from working a night shift he stopped at the Circle K on Hamilton Road where he splurged on an INSTANT $3,000,000 PRESTIGE ticket.

"I played it at the store and saw it was a winner right away – I was shocked," Baxted said while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. "I just wanted to run home and tell my wife that our dream came true. I had tears of joy for sure."

Baxted said he plans to use the money to buy a new house for his family and also plans to share with his children.

"And I've always wanted the new Dodge Challenger – so now I can treat myself to that. I feel so humbled by this incredible win," said Baxted.
