London Search and Rescue team recruiting new members

London Search and Rescue is looking for 30 new members to join their volunteer group.

This team assists the London Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and other forces within 150 kilometres of London. Volunteers attend missing person searches within the same distance of the city.

The Search and Rescue Team already has 75 members, but they say more are needed due to the increased number of missing person activations over the last year.

Applications are now open.

There are several requirements for the position. Candidates must live within 150 km of London, be age 21 or older, and pass a records check. They should enjoy being outdoors in any season, be able to hike 10 km, be trained in CPR and first aid, and have availability for a number of meetings and training sessions.

London Search and Rescue is also asking for volunteers to commit 2 years to the role, clocking a minimum of 60 hours each year.

Details about the opportunity were shared via Facebook and Instagram.

The application form can be submitted online until January 22.
