Teen stabbed at Beal Secondary School

A stabbing at a downtown London high school has left a teenage girl in hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency crews were called to the reported stabbing at H.B. Beal Secondary School on Dundas Street around 11:30 a.m. Monday. A teenage girl was found with serious stab wounds. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

Multiple witnesses told London News Today that the stabbing occurred in the cafeteria - which is on the first floor of the school and has windows that face King Street.

Officers were in the cafeteria as part of their investigation and the school was temporarily placed on hold and secure while London police searched for a suspect. The hold and secure has since been lifted.

A teenage girl has been arrested. At this point, no charges have been laid.

Police have said they are in the early stages of their investigation and will provide more information when it becomes available.
