Nearly $600K in drugs seized in Woodstock

Two people have been arrested after Woodstock police seized nearly $600,000 worth of drugs from a city home.

Police attempted to take the two people into custody in the area of Springbank Avenue around 5:30 p.m. on Monday following a drug investigation. In an effort to get away from officers, the pair tried to drive away but ended up crashing their vehicle.

They then tried running from the scene, police said.

A 47-year-old Woodstock resident and a 43-year-old Cambridge resident were arrested after a foot chase. Charges have not yet been laid against either individual.

Police searched a home on Springbank Avenue where officers turned up 65 ounces of cocaine, 22 ounces of fentanyl, 28 ounces of methamphetamine, 44 ounces of psilocybin, over 300 hydromorphone capsules, and more than $33,000 in cash.

The drugs seized are worth an estimated $595,000, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
