London man among two charged in theft from Aylmer car dealership

Two people are facing charges after two separate break-ins at the same Aylmer car dealership saw four vehicles disappear.

The first break-in at Goodwill Motors off Talbot Street was reported to Aylmer police around 2:20 a.m. last Wednesday. Surveillance footage showed two men wearing masks and dark coloured clothing setting off the security alarm as they broke into the dealership. The pair took key fobs to vehicles on the lot before stealing a 2018 Dodge Caravan, police said.

Around 6:45 a.m. two days later, three thieves returned to the car lot and used the previously stolen key fobs to take a 2019 Hyundai, 2016 Ford transit, and a 2014 Dodge Journey.

All except the Hyundai were later found by London police.

A 40-year-old London man and a 23-year-old Southwold woman have been arrested. They are charged with possession of stolen property.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
