Stabbing victim released from hospital

One of the two victims of a stabbing incident in south London has been released from hospital.

London police provided an update on the incident Thursday. According to police, the teen was one of two youths who were stabbed in a parking lot on Wellington Road south of Bradley Avenue on Tuesday.

The other victim is still in hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

"Information has been received indicating that the individuals involved in the altercation in the parking lot of a shopping centre located in the 1100-block of Wellington Road, may have been at a large unsanctioned basketball game nearby, prior to the stabbing," police said in a statement issued Thursday. "The game allegedly took place outside of an elementary school in the 500-block of Bradley Avenue earlier in the night."

Police are asking anyone who has information about the incident to call investigators at 519-661-5670 or through Crime Stoppers. They are speficially looking for information or video footage of any altercations that took place at the basketball game, or the parking lot associated to the incident, between the hours of 7:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m.
