Death of woman found in south London field not suspicious: police

Three days after the body of a woman was found in a field in south London, police have confirmed the death is not suspicious.

A passerby called 911 around 8:30 a.m. on Friday after spotting what appeared to be a dead body in the grassy area beside Parkwood Hospital near Wellington Road and Commissioners Road East. The body was removed by late morning, although a few London police officers remained on scene into the afternoon.

"The deceased individual is confirmed to be an adult female, and the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature," police said in a statement issued on Monday.

It was added that no other information that would identify the woman would be released at this time.

The discovery of the deceased woman in south London came just 48 hours after the body of another woman was pulled from the Thames River near Ivey Park. Police later confirmed that the woman's death was not suspicious. Her name has not been released.
