London to celebrate 26th annual Pride Parade

The Forest City is gearing up to celebrate a return to an in-person Pride Parade.

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pride London will once again paint the downtown core with the colours of the rainbow during its 26th annual Pride Parade.

The festivities kicked off Friday night in Victoria Park and will continue on Saturday with the parade scheduled for Sunday.

A number of DJs and musicians will be in the park Saturday along with a performance from Canada's Drag Race Season 1 winner Priyanka, who takes the stage at 9 p.m.

On Sunday, the festivities will start at noon in the parking lot of the Western Fair. The parade will start heading west down Dundas Street, then north on Waterloo Street. From there, participants will march up to Dufferin Street and head west again onto Wellington Street until they reach Victoria Park.

After the parade, the Royal Court Wind Down Show will kick off in the park to cap off the last day of celebrations. Performers include several bands and musicians such as Askher, Laura Gagnon, Kate Channer and the show's headliner Bif Naked.

Pride London encourages attendees to wear comfortable clothing, bottles of bubbles, water guns (but asks that you only spray people who ask), flags and "fun and safe" items to giveaway during the parade.
