Some may feel like the temperatures outside are a little extra uncomfortable throughout the first half of the week.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning for a large chunk of southern Ontario on Monday afternoon in areas including Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton, London-Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford, Huron-Perth and southern Grey counties.
Hot and humid conditions are expected to blanket most of the region on Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures expected to reach around 31 C with humidex values in the upper thirties on both days. Overnight conditions on Tuesday are unlikely to provide much relief from the heat, with temperatures dipping down slightly to around 20 C in some areas.
"Seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building," the weather agency advises.
Hot and humid weather also brings about the potential for heat-related illness. Environment Canada recommends that those spending time outdoors find cooler, shaded areas and drink plenty of water.
Symptoms of heat illness may include dizziness, fainting, nausea, vomiting, rapid breathing and heartbeat along with extreme thirst, decreased urination with unusually dark urine.
The region is expected to cool off slightly on Thursday.
