New Western Fair attractions announced

Aerial acrobatics, stunt driving motorcyclists, and bowling ball jugglers will be among the performers bringing the Western Fair back to life this September.

The list of attractions for the first Western Fair since 2019 was announced on Tuesday.

On the main midway Mighty Mike will be juggling bowling balls and sledgehammers and bending pounds of metal, while the Silver Starlets, an all-female aerial acrobatics team, will tumble, bend, climb and fall before cheering audiences. The 'Ride the Vibe' motorcycle stunt show will thrill spectators with leap and helmet-scraping backflips. Adding some Canadian flair will be the Hockey Circus Show - a family friendly hockey tribute that combines acrobatics, juggling, and one-of-a-kind circus stunts. Also entertaining on the midway will be the 'farmer's daughter' who mixes gymnastics, rowdy rope tricking, and a one-of-a-kind milk bottle walk.

Inside the Agriplex, there will be pups and wrestlers. The Canine Circus will see the four-legged animals perform tail-wagging feats and grand illusions. Smash Wrestling offers a mix of Canadian superstars and wrestlers from all over the world showing off their moves while telling unique stories to those seated ring side.

Over on the family stage in Kiddyland will be the magic of Aaron Matthews, Dan the Music Man, DooDoo the International Clown, and Marky Monday the the solo-electric guitar playing rockstar. Bex in Motion will also perform on the family stage during the fair's ten-day run with a mix of fire, acrobatics, and mesmerizing hula hoop tricks.

The Western Fair Association announced in May that the annual event, scheduled to run from September 9 to 18, will be an in-person one. The COVID-19 pandemic had forced the past two fairs to be virtual offerings. The theme of the return of the Western Fair is “happy days.”

Kids 10 and under and seniors 70 plus will be granted free entry, while the price of general admission for everyone else is held at the 2019 price of $15. Additional ticket information can be found on the fair website westernfair.ca.
